Prof Subra Suresh, NTU Singapore_edited.
Prof. Subra Suresh
President, Nanyang Technological University and Advisor, A*STAR

Subra Suresh is President and Distinguished University Professor at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. He has previously served as: Dean of Engineering and Vannevar Bush Professor of Engineering at MIT; Director of National Science Foundation (NSF), a position to which he was nominated by the President of the United States and unanimously confirmed by the US Senate; and President of Carnegie Mellon University.


President Suresh has authored three books, more than 300 research articles and 26 patent applications, and has co-founded a technology start-up. His research has focused on the properties of engineered and biological materials and their implications for human diseases.


President Suresh is a member of all three branches of the US National Academies – Engineering, Sciences and Medicine. He has also been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the National Academy of Inventors, and as a foreign member of science academies in China, France, Germany, India, and Spain. He has been awarded 18 honorary doctorate degrees from institutions in USA, UK, China, India, Sweden, Spain, Switzerland, South Korea, Greece and Russia. He is an independent Director of the Boards of HP Inc., California, and Singapore Exchange, and a member of the Boards of NRF and A*STAR, Singapore.

Dr Dedy Permadi
MINISTER'S SPECIAL ADVISOR FOR DIGITAL POLICY & HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT, MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATION AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, INDONESIA

Dr Dedy Permadi was Assistant Professor of International Relations in the Department of International Relations Universitas Gadjah Mada, now assisting the Minister of Communications and Informatics of the Republic of Indonesia in providing strategic and political analysis on subjects related to digital policy and human resources development.

He is an advocate in promoting a holistic approach in digital policymaking with experiences in working with a diverse range of stakeholders, including the private sectors, scholars, and communities or civil societies. Previously, he worked as the Managing Director of Institute of International Studies and Director of Center for Digital Society Universitas Gadjah Mada.

Dr. Michael Fung
DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE (INDUSTRY) / CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER / CHIEF DATA OFFICER, SKILLSFUTURE SINGAPORE (SSG)

Dr. Michael Fung is the Deputy Chief Executive (Industry), Chief Human Resource Officer, and Chief Data Officer at SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), a statutory agency under the Ministry of Education.

Michael was previously Senior Advisor to the Office of the President at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), and Director of Planning and Institutional Research. 

 

He was formerly the Director of Strategic Planning and Quality Assurance at the Singapore Management University (SMU), Deputy Director at the Singapore Ministry of Manpower (MOM), and held various senior positions at the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA) and the National

Computer Board (NCB) of Singapore.

Dennis Lui
CHIEF EXECUTIVE, VITAL SHARED SERVICES
MINISTRY OF FINANCE, SINGAPORE

Dennis Lui was appointed Chief Executive of VITAL Shared Services (VITAL) on 1 April 2020. VITAL is the shared services arm of the Singapore Public Service, established as a department under the Ministry of Finance in July 2006. 

 

Prior to his current appointment, Dennis served as the Senior Director (Finance and Administration) in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) from April 2017 to March 2020. 

 

Dennis graduated from Christ Church, Oxford University with a degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (First Class). Dennis received a Master of Science (with distinction) in Management from the London School of Economics. In addition, Dennis graduated with an MBA from the Anderson School at University of California Los Angeles (UCLA).

CEO, MALAYSIA DIGITAL ECONOMY CORPORATION

Surina Shukri brings two decades of experience working across a diverse range of companies including global multinationals, middle market companies and early stage startups across the financial services, natural resources and technology sectors. 
She spent the bulk of her professional career in the United States, including 17 years of experience as an investment banker, strategist and leader at JPMorgan Chase & Co., the largest bank in the United States. There she served as Head of Strategy, Innovation & Business Management for Middle Market Banking, Head of Strategy for Commercial Banking, Chief of Staff to the CEO and Executive Director in Natural Resources Investment Banking.
